Produced by Maramed in the USA this posterior leaf spring (PLS) AFO is designed specifically for drop foot syndrome.
It is a heat mouldable splint providing dorsi-flexion assistance and allowing limited plantar flexion. The splint provides ¾ length foot and a full foot plate is available. The full foot provides additional support and comfort where required.
The splint is fabricated in a pre-dorsiflexed position to provide superior dorsi-flexion assist. The amount of dorsi-flexion is proportional to shoe size. The anatomical design compensates for atrophy and avoids calcaneus irritation.
The splint is made from a specially formulated polypropylene plastic ensuring effective product longevity. They are easily customised utilising a heat gun and scissors.
It is available in 4 sizes and in left and right and in full foot.
All in all, a super value orthosis with established patient compliance.
