Custom Made Insoles

Why we recommend hand made custom insoles

In this video above,  Lakeland's' lead orthotics technician  Mark Smith demonstrates how we make custom insoles by hand. We recommend the use of custom insoles as it is our experience that they offer superior functionality and fit when compared to off the shelf products or partly customisable products available today. This means your Lakeland custom insole is guaranteed 100% authentic and unique to fit your foot and personal needs!

The insoles are made from a cast which is created from the customers foot impression. They can be ordered by either a consumer or professional. We provide foot impression boxes or you can use your own.

Custom insoles ensure the patient is provided with the most appropriate stimulus deliverable, correcting the patients full required needs. They have the ability to correct imbalances above the foot and take into consideration a holistic approach to foot care.

A wide range of material can be used in the creation of our custom insoles resulting in a comfortable solution to correcting postural and dynamic muscluo-skeletal imbalances. Material options range from very low to high density to assist in a variety of conditions including diabetes and sports injuries.

The insoles can be used to help correct medio-lateral imbalance, posterior-anterior imbalance, increase and decrease soft tissue elasticity and assist with foot, limb and whole body performance. They also increase comfort, reduce pain and facilitate proper biodynamics.

Mode of action
Lakeland custom insoles offer highly customisable pressure via material worn inside foot wear. Th insole material, structure and conformation changes the environmental stimulus received by the foot upon contact with ground reaction forces.

When you purchase insoles online, we provide an impression box (1 box will provide up to 2 impressions) and instructions on how to take an impression, plus an order form. The order form needs to be returned with the impression box before the hand-made custom insoles are created and posted out with instructions for use.
